Dedicated to improving adoption experiences
Connecting people, practice and research
Finding help in challenging times
Chronic underfunding of adoption services means that essential resources to help adoptive families are very limited. Yet families and adopted people continue to face complex, real-life challenges that can’t be put on hold. When help is needed, what is available at no cost?
Research on adoption - alongside psychology and education - holds valuable knowledge and tools that could help. But too often this information feels out of reach or disconnected from real-world needs. Many adoptive families never see the research. Practitioners say they often struggle to find time to read it, to apply it or even to share their knowledge with colleagues.
The Adoption Collaborative is dedicated to improving experiences of adoption by connecting people, practice and research - to understand, to share and to learn from each other. Through these connections, and by working together, we co-create relevant resources and strategies to help with the real-life challenges faced by families.
